Generating Electric Current in Piezoelectrics

 | Post date: 2022/10/1 |
The researchers of Amirkabir University of Technology, by investigating the possibility of producing electric current from cyclic tensile loading and its buckling, in piezoelectric PVDF, are trying to create products that are capable of variety of thing, such as, constructing rechargeable products through the movements of human body.
“Maintaining optimal circumstances and finally constructing a mixed-layer polymer of two types of polymers, PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) and PU (Polyurethane), considering each of which has special properties, it’s possible to create an optimal layer to check the possibility of generating electric current coming from that layer. Using this product, it is possible to make battery chargers, connected to the human body in sports clothes, which can charge a mobile phone battery due to stretching movements of the arms and legs during training or exercise.” Behrang Adeli, an AUT university PhD student, said.
This product and research is unique, and its competitive advantage is the new technology in mixing polymer materials and generating electric current in a new way while expanding all types of polymer alloys.
The supervisors of this project are Dr. Aliakbar Ghare Agaji and Dr. Ali Asghar Asgharian Jeddi, faculty members of Amirkabir University of Technology.
