Fabrication of Multilayer Nanofiber Membranes Using Plant Extracts and Seashells
Researchers at Amirkabir University of Technology have succeeded in modifying the biocompatible polymer of chitosan with the help of plant extracts to create multilayer membranes that can be used to prevent adhesions in surgery and at the same time, become fixed on the wound site without the need for sutures due to the presence of a layer of bioadhesive inspired by oysters (biped).

Use of Clay Minerals to Optimize the Dose of Antibiotics

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Syria and his Accompanying Delegation Visit AUT
Dr. Basam Bashir Ebrahim, the minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Syria, Dr. Shafigh Deiub, the ambassador of Syria in Iran, Dr. Yassar Abedin, the chancellor of Damascus University, and the accompanying delegation visited AUT and the Technology Tower. AUT chancellor, Dr. Seyyed Hassan Ghodsipour, and the vice Chancellor of international affairs at AUT, Dr. Behrouz Arezoo, were present at this visit and assembly.

Low-Purity Clay Resources as an Alternative to Cement
Arash Zolfagharnasab, a graduate of AUT, stated: "Apart from reinforcing structures, replacing the part of the Portland cement with mineral additives (pozzolanic materials) will decrease the consumption of fuel and pollutant gases in the process of producing cement."

AUT Professor Wins the Silk Road Science Fund (SRSF)
In the sixth joint call of the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the national research project of Dr. Mohammad Jafar Kermani, a faculty member of Heat and Fluids, department of Mechanical Engineering, was the winning proposal. Dr. Kermani’s project was one of the 5 proposals in the Silk Road Science Fund (SRSF).

Winning 29th place in the ICPC World Programming Competition
Amirkabir University of Technology's team was ranked 29th in the ICPC World Programming Competition. 117 teams participated in the ICPC World Programming Competition which was held in Russia. Amirkabir University of Technology’s team included Amir Reza Pourakhavan, Parsa Abdollahi, and Amir Hossein Pashaei Hir under the supervision of Dr. Amin Gheibi.
